Get Ready for Race Day!

Get Ready for Race Day!

It’s been a while since I have posted. I am still finding my feet with our new baby and adjusting as a family of five. It has been a tremendous blessing, but as you can imagine, quite a busy time.

One thing that I have learned is that I cannot write without the Lord doing it through me! I am completely dependent on His leading since the purpose of this blog is to release Rhema words.

I’m also excited to announce the launch of my husband’s training and equipping course SPIRIT-GYM. The focus of this course is to get the body ‘harvest-ready’ and to get individuals trained to walk in their callings. You can get more info on the website at www.spirit-gym.com. Registration is open for one week only from the 1st to the 7th of February 2021. Don’t miss this opportunity!

While contemplating what the Lord wants me to write, the Spirit revealed the word limbo to my husband. The definition of the word limbo is: an uncertain situation that you cannot control and in which there is no progress (dictionary.cambridge.org).

As soon as I read the definition, I understood exactly where we as the Body of Christ are right now! We are in a state of limbo. An uncertain time where we need to WAIT on the Lord for instruction, but also where we need to start executing on what the Lord already revealed but we are unsure off.

As we are in this state of limbo, being very unsure what the world will look like in 2021, we need to be in this place of waiting and beginning to move. It is a place of STRATEGIC SILENCE and MOVING by FAITH.

It will require us to both wait on the Lord in silence and slowly starting to do what He already told us. If you feel like you don’t hear anything from the Lord, wait. If you feel you heard something but you are unsure, move by faith.

When the time is ready the Lord will whisper greater strategy into our inner ears. But only those who have waited on the Lord and who have been obedient with what He already said, they will be able to hear the strategy for 2021.

One thing my husband keeps hearing is: “start moving into the streets”. I believe this is the warm-up part. Whatever the greater strategy, I believe it has to do with bringing in the harvest.

We need to clearly differentiate between waiting upon the Lord and being paralysed. I am sensing a lot of Christians are currently feeling paralysed because of these unsure times we are facing. We are called to press into the presence of the Lord and wait upon Him, and as His Word promises us, He will renew our strength.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”

~ Isaiah 40:31

Get Ready!

I received a word from a fellow believer a few weeks ago that blessed me tremendously. It was such a timely and spot-on word. I realised that this word was not only for me as an individual but is a revelation for the entire body of Christ.

In competitive sports, there is a time of resting before a big match or race, where no training takes place. During this time the athletes must rest and allow their bodies to be prepared for race day. There is not much they can do. Further exercise beyond a certain point will not be beneficial but will only harm their bodies. They need to rest. All the training and exercise has been done. They need to rest and prepare themselves mentally for the big day.

This word the fellow believer gave me is that we are in that time right now. That is what spiritual limbo is all about. 2020 was known as the year of preparation. 2020 has equipped and trained us. We had to endure difficulties and withstand testing, trials, and tribulations. Our faith has been strengthened.

I was an athlete myself. I remember always wondering if I have trained well enough and if I was ready to give my best on race day. The truth is that you never feel completely ready. You always think you could have trained harder. But it is essential to take a few days off before the race otherwise you will overburden yourself and will not be able to give your best. You have to TRUST that you are ready, whether you feel like it or not.

The same is true for our spiritual training and especially now in this state of limbo, where no one is sure what will happen next.

I want to emphasize again, that this time of waiting on the Lord is NOT to be a time where we are passive and complacent. We need to stay in tune with the Spirit and be in a state of warming up. Just like the athletes don’t do intense training just before the big race, they are, however, warming up. Their minds are focused and they physically warm their bodies up to be ready.  The same is true for us. We cannot lose focus in these crucial times.

But unlike physical sports, we have the best coach – Holy Spirit as our personal trainer! We have to TRUST that God is preparing us, that He is making us ready for what lies ahead. Especially in difficult seasons where we do not hear His voice as clearly as we are used to. Surrender and waiting are key ingredients for the times we are currently facing.

Strengthened by Joy
If you were to participate in one of the biggest sports events, maybe the Olympic games. What would you do if you knew the outcome beforehand, that you are already the winner? All you have to do is pitch up and give your best?

My husband shared this with me and his answer hit it home for me. He said, “I will enjoy it!” Amen on that! God wants us to ENJOY what is coming in 2021 and beyond. It sure won’t be easy, but Isaiah 60 states that when darkness covers the earth, and deep darkness the people, the Lord will arise over us, and His glory will be seen upon us. (Isaiah 60:2)

The Church is called to SHINE in this hour. To be the light that the unbelievers will be drawn to. To be a beacon of HOPE in a hopeless world.

The biggest strategy of the enemy in this hour is to remove hope from the earth, worse even, he plans to remove hope from the heart of the believers. We need to counter this attack and fix our eyes even more on the Lord Jesus, and follow His example as it is written in Hebrews 12: 1-2:

“Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Our JOY is that we receive Christ as our inheritance! And the best part is that we already KNOW the outcome of this race! We need to keep our focus on the imperishable crown. The moment we take our eyes off from our source of JOY and HOPE, the Lord Jesus, we will face much more difficulties. It will become unbearable. Do not look at what is going on in the world, the perishable realm, but lock eyes with your bridegroom!

“And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”

~ 1 Corinthians 9:25

In the next blog, I will continue with the Breaking the Silence Series…

Arise, You Who Sleep, and Christ Will Give You Light! (Radical Obedience Part 3)

Arise, You Who Sleep, and Christ Will Give You Light! (Radical Obedience Part 3)

These past few weeks have been quite challenging. It really felt as if the enemy kept on knocking and knocking on the door trying the gain a foothold into the lives of God’s children.

This comes as no surprise. We are moving into crucial times. Like I mentioned in my previous blog, this upcoming weekend, the 19th September marks a very important date on God’s calendar. We are crossing over into the 7th month, which signifies the 7m marker which I wrote about in the previous blogpost (read here if you missed it).

Now is the time to push forward and give no place to the devil!

Guard against Complacency
Amidst the battle, I clearly heard the words “Do not become complacent.” English is not my mother tongue, so I had to look this one up. I found the definition quite interesting:

Complacency:

  • a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like.
  • self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition, etc.”

(Dictionary.com)

I realised how dangerous it is to be a complacent Christian and the Lord is specifically warning us against having a complacent attitude. Complacency might be one of the biggest enemies we need to overcome.

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

~ Philippians 3:13-14

May we have the same mind as Paul in the above scripture, that we do not become complacent but that we stay focused on the Lord and press forward towards His purposes.

Entertainment Culture
A few years ago, the Lord spoke to my husband in a series of visions and impressions. He kept on hearing: Entertainment Culture.

The Lord revealed to him what is going on in most of Christianity. One of the greatest strongholds over the church and Christianity, in general, is its entertainment culture.

We listen to a good biblical sermon, hear a true accurate prophetic word, read a sound biblical book and we get excited about it. It stirs our excitement and we then share our excitement about this “prophetic word”, teaching or book with others. Like you would when you watched a good movie.

The problem is, like the movie, a week or two goes by and you kind of forget about it. You move on to the next “exciting” thing. You got entertained by God’s holy gifts! You never really took it to heart with the intent of DOING something about it. Or sometimes, we tell ourselves: I will give attention to this LATER. Are we not guilty of this verse?

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

~ James 1:22-25

We must heed against being so “super-spiritual” receiving so many prophetic words, teachings, read books, etc but then almost immediately after receiving it we turn away and forget about it. Or worst even, like Paul says we get puffed up by all the knowledge we have (1 Co 8:1).

The book of James clearly states that if we are only hearers of the Word and not doers we are in deception. If we don’t apply the Word as a seed to cultivate in our lives it will not take root and there will be no harvest. We will in fact, still be caught up in religion and in essence, deception.

The only way to counter and overthrow this massive stronghold of entertainment culture is to become doers of the word by walking in obedience.

We need to walk in the realities of the revelations we receive. Only when we start walking in the realities of the revelations, these strongholds will come down and we will start to bear fruit in the likeness and image of Christ.

Again, it all comes down to obedience.

The Awakening Trumpet will be Released through Obedience!
I asked the Lord “how do we ‘get’ people to walk in obedience”. I heard the Spirit say: “You will not get people to obey. You have to be obedient yourself and only then you can effectively intercede for others.”

This answer pierced right through me! It was like a sword dividing the soul and spirit, and it discerned the thoughts and intents of my heart (Heb 4:12). I felt the Spirit saying, “The time of talking is over, you will be positioned by doing!”

The Lord will use our obedience as an awakening trumpet for many other members of the body to arise out of their slumber. Our lives and footsteps of obedience will release a sound and cause a great awakening among believers.

It is from this position of doing, that we will be able to intercede and our intercession will become much more than prayer: It will become a lifestyle as a sweet-smelling aroma unto the Lord. We will carry the fragrance of Christ and others will be attracted to obedience.

I recently read a book that made a great impact on my life. In fact, it challenged me to the core and really made me question a lot of things in my own life and in Christianity in general.

I want to encourage you to read this book as I strongly feel God wants to restore these principles to the end-time church and that we need to be equipped in these truths.

The name of the book is Reese Howells: Intercessor by Norman Grubb. You can download a free PDF HERE or search for the audio readings on YouTube or elsewhere or buy a hardcopy on Amazon or on Loot in South Africa.

An Urgent Word: PUSHBACK!!!

I feel an urgency to release this short word. Last night I clearly heard the word PUSHBACK in the spirit. It came as an URGENT INSTRUCTION – we need to pushback against the wiles of the enemy in this hour. This pushback requires immediate obedience!

This week has been extremely difficult on many levels. I thought I was fighting my own battles but I started hearing other Christians complaining about the same things. Last night I felt the heaviness again and all of a sudden, I heard Holy Spirit whisper that there has been a release of extreme dark forces upon the earth – we need to pushback!

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

~ 1 Peter 5:8

Focus on JESUS!
It is of utmost importance to stay focused on Jesus. Do not take your eyes off the Lord. Our strength comes from Him! Although the enemy is taking out stronger weapons and he is using different tactics to ensnare us, scripture tells us what to do:

“Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

~ James 4:7

People tend to misinterpret this verse. Satan is expert at drawing us away from the Lord’s presence to get us to fight him. You can’t resist satan on his terms. You will live in constant defeat.

Resist in this verse doesn’t mean fight. Old tactics of spiritual warfare are just not going to cut it anymore (not that it ever really has). Only those who learn to abide will be able to persevere.

If satan attacks you with pride, for instance, you submit to the humility of Christ. You behold the Humble One Himself. You bask in His presence and you resist satan’s pride by pressing deeper into Christ’ humility.

Satan will try harder to get you out, with more pride. RESIST! Resist the urge to give in and accept satan’s thoughts as your own. RESIST! Take every thought captive (2 Co 10:5): Quote scripture out load that says the direct opposite (Mat 4:1-11). Praise the Lord and thank Him with those truths in direct opposition.

The Release of Higher Truths
While me and my husband were praying about how the Lord is instructing us to pushback, I heard the Lord say that while the enemy is taking out stronger weapons, HE will teach the remnant new tactics!

These are HIGHER TRUTHS and NEW WEAPONS that will be released. Although these truths have been available to us all along, only a few people in the past have accessed them. Only those in centuries passed who pressed in and went higher could taste these mysteries.

These higher truths and mysteries have been preserved for the last hour and it will be unveiled for those who faithfully abide in His presence.

Do not fight, but FEAST!
An example of a higher truth is to stop fighting and start feasting. Psalm 23 says “He sets a table before us in the presence of our enemies” Our weapon is feasting in and on the presence of the Lord.

Another one of these higher truths that the Lord has taught my husband is to cast the Lord’s presence on your problems or attacks until it is resolved in His presence. My husband will share this in a blog post sometime this week (so be sure to subscribe so you won’t miss out on that).

Immediate Obedience
Do not allow the enemy to keep you out of the Father’s presence. Be sure to pushback by coming in the opposite spirit through worship, proclaiming scriptures, praying in the spirit or in whatever way the Lord leads you.

The longer we allow the enemy to linger on our doorstep, the more ground he will gain and the harder it will be to get the effects of his defilement out of us.

The Spirit reminded me of my dream Winds of Resistance Against Faithful Witnesses and of the Lion of Judah watching over us! We are surely building muscle capacity by pushing forward against this strong wind!

For our weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

~ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
